August 11, 2026: The content below helps navigate the new features in this release. A full list of updates is available in the Reference Manual's Appendix.

XF 7.11.2 upgrades the bundled 7-zip utility on Windows from version 9.20 to 26.00, addressing a known security vulnerability, and project archiving on Linux now correctly locates the system 7-zip binary. The supported Linux distributions for the FlexLM vendor daemon have been expanded to include RHEL7, RHEL8, and Ubuntu 18.

Component Tagging and Filtering

The project tree now supports tagging and filtering of components, making it easier to organize and locate components in complex projects. Filters limit the tree view to components with matching tags, replacing the need to scroll through long component lists in large designs.

New Schematic Elements

The schematic editor adds two new component types. An N-way reciprocal power divider distributes power among a user-specified number of branches, simplifying feed network modeling for arrays and multi-port systems. A coaxial transmission line element models physical coax lines directly in the circuit solver, enabling more realistic cabling and interconnect representation in matching network analyses.

Expanded Material Support

Very large numbers of electric materials are now supported in the XFdtd calculation engine, removing the previous 256-material limit. Simulations using detailed anatomical models, or imported CAD with many distinct materials benefit from this expanded capacity.

Directional Linear Patterns

Linear patterns can now be created along an arbitrary direction rather than being restricted to the local coordinate system axes. This provides greater flexibility when arraying geometry along angled or application-specific orientations.

Frequency Band Filtering

Frequency content can now be filtered throughout post-processing. Result tables, including system sensor and steady state results, support frequency band filters that limit the displayed data to bands of interest. When visualizing results, discrete frequencies can be subset so that only the frequencies of interest are plotted, reducing clutter in dense broadband datasets.

Additional Capabilities

This version introduces over 50 usability, performance, scripting, and other updates.
